Stefana Andrei

Stefana Andrei was promoted to Assistant Coach for the 2021-22 VCU women’s tennis season, following a two-year stint as a Graduate Assistant for the Rams.
 
Andrei helped coach the Rams to the Atlantic 10 Championship in 2021, earning a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Andrei also helped coach Paola Exposito Diaz-Delgado, who was ranked as high as No. 91 in the ITA Singles Ranking in 2020-21 and No. 106 in 2019-20, when she was the ITA Atlantic Regional runner-up.
 
She also helped coach Diaz-Delgado and her partner, Noumea Witmus, to No. 73 in the ITA Doubles Ranking in 2020-21.
 
Andrei was a standout player at Louisiana-Monroe, playing at the No. 1 position for singles and doubles. She went undefeated in the year of 2018 and was ranked No. 69 in the ITA Singles Rankings. In 2017, she was named Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year as the Warhawks won the conference championship.
 
Andrei has reached as high as No. 854 in singles and No. 800 in doubles in the WTA Rankings, and won the doubles title at the $10,000 event in Santa Margherita di Pula, Italy.
 
A native of Targu Jiu, Romania, Andrei graduated from Louisiana-Monroe with a degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations, and earned a master’s degree from VCU in Sports Leadership.
