Kasey Mattison joined the VCU Athletic Department on a full-time basis in 2006 as an academic advisor and currently serves as the Director of Student-Athlete Support Services.

Mattison works with VCU’s student athletes to organize, plan and achieve the academic goals of both the student and the athletic department. She helps student athletes devise class schedules, track academic progress and assigns necessary tutors. Mattison is also a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics.

Prior to her full-time appointment, Mattison served as a graduate assistant for student athlete support services during the 2005-06 academic year.

Mattison was a student-athlete at VCU and was a four-year member of the women's soccer program, helping the Rams be part of two NCAA Tournament runs.

A Richmond native, she earned her bachelor’s of science in psychology from VCU in 2005. She completed her master’s in counseling education through VCU in 2008.
