Tessa Grossman

Tessa Grossman joined VCU Women's Basketball as the program's Director of Sports Performance in July 2024.

Grossman joins VCU after serving at Middle Tennessee State as the Blue Raiders' Associate Strength Coach for football and women's basketball.
 
Grossman has experience in both college athletics and in the NFL where she was a Bill Wash Diversity Coaching Fellow for the Cincinnati Bengals, Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets. She spent time in training camp with both the New York Jets in 2023 and the Atlanta Falcons in 2021. She also participated virtually with the Bengals in 2021.
 
Prior to her time at MTSU, Grossman served as graduate assistant at Illinois State working with women's gymnastics, women's golf and men's tennis. She also assisted with football, softball, volleyball and women's basketball. Grossman has also served as an intern football strength coach with Cal, the Los Angeles Rams, Mamba Sports Academy, Dartmouth College and Keen Performance.
 
Grossman played softball at Dartmouth and received her bachelor's degree from Dartmouth in sociology. She earned a master's of sports psychology and biomechanics from Illinois State.
 
Grossman is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through NCSA, and she is also AED/CPR certified.
