RaShauna Hobbs

RaShauna Hobbs joins the VCU Women’s Basketball staff as agraduate assistant for the 2011-12 campaign.  Hobbs comes toVCU after a year working with Monumental Sports and Entertainmentas an Inside Sales Account Executive and Youth Basketball GroupSales Manager.

Hobbs was a four-year letterwinner at Colonial AthleticAssociation rival George Mason, graduating in 2010 with a Bachelorof Science degree in business and a minor in sportmanagement.  The Bowie, Md., native captained the Patriotsduring her senior campaign, while appearing in 102 games with 55starts during her collegiate career.  She averaged 6.6 pointsand 2.3 rebounds per game and was one of only two players to appearin all 30 contests as a junior.  Hobbs concluded her career atGeorge Mason with 475 points, 160 rebounds, 102 assists and 61steals.

RaShauna is the daughter of Karl Hobbs, who spent 10 seasons asthe head men’s basketball coach at George Washington beforereturning to his alma mater and defending national championConnecticut as the Director of Administration in July.

Hobbs, who recently attended the Women's Basketball CoachesAssociation's "So you want to be a coach?" program, while alsoserving as a volunteer AAU girl's basketball coach, played highschool basketball for Diane Richardson at national powerhouseRiverdale Baptist (Md.).  She is currently pursuing herMaster’s degree at VCU’s Center for Sport Leadershipand hopes to break into collegiate coaching upon graduation.
