IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

RICHMOND, Va. – The VCU Lacrosse team has been named a Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad for the third consecutive season by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). Additionally, 11 Rams were honored for their individual academic excellence Wednesday.

The Rams received the honor by virtue of posting a team grade point average of 3.0 or greater during the 2018-19 academic year.

Eleven VCU student-athletes, Jessica Del Rossi, Gabby Gibbons, Mary Hagopian, Sky Hyatt, Katie Matz, Victoria McCarl, Olivia McGrath, Chloe Mujwit, Jenn Nonn, Ria Peralta and Zoe Zebersky, were selected to the Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll after posting a GPA of 3.5 or greater. Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore to receive the honor.

For Hyatt and Peralta, it was another academic trophy for their mantles. Both players were named to the Atlantic 10 Conference All-Academic Team in May.

Hyatt, a redshirt senior, completed her VCU career with a 3.75 GPA on the way to earning a bachelor's degree in finance and a masters in business. She also led the Rams in goals scored for the fourth consecutive season.

A senior, Peralta graduated from VCU in May with degrees in biology and psychology and a 3.573 grade point average. She led the A-10 in saves in 2019.

It's the second straight year in which Hyatt, Hagopian and Gibbons earned a spot on the IWLCA's Academic Honor Roll.
