Boston, Mass. – The VCU Track & Field team sent representatives to compete at the both the ECAC/IC4A Indoor Championships this weekend.

On Saturday, a number of members of the Black & Gold turned in impressive performances.

After placing fifth in the preliminaries of the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.63 seconds, junior Dionna Hayes found herself tied for second after a run of 7.51 seconds in the semifinals. The Bowie, Md., will compete in the finals on Sunday, at 1:35 p.m. Porter is the defending champion in the event .

Freshman sprinter Kiara Porter shined in the 400 meters, finishing in fifth place in the preliminaries with a time of 55.50 seconds. Porter will compete in the finals on Sunday at 1:50 p.m.  

Senior Jazlynn Finney earned herself seventh place honors in the long jump, leaping 5.76 meters.

Redshirt sophomore Jaleesa Williams competed in the women's shot put and finished in 21st place, with a heave of 12.44 meters.

For the VCU Men, junior Alex Hinton grabbed a 17th place finish in the 1000 meter run with a time of 2:30.73.
