RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Men's Tennis has locked up the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic 10 Tournament for the second consecutive year, the league announced Tuesday morning. VCU enters the tournament as the two-time defending A-10 Champion and looks to three-peat.

The Rams concluded the season with a 13-9 overall record and a 2-0 record in conference play. Three different athletes earned Atlantic 10 Weekly Awards this season. Sophomore Inigo Torre Martin earned three Player of the Week awards along with senior Philip Mobius with one. Freshman Rayane Stable was honored with two Rookie of the Week awards, as well.

Martin led the team with a 15-5 dual singles record during the spring season. During the fall season, Martin was crowned the B Singles Bracket Champion in the Richmond Spider Invitational.

Stable completed the spring season with an 11-8 record and senior Arvid Noren closed up the spring season with a 11-9 record.

The men's top duo, Martin and Noren, logged a team best 20-1 overall doubles record during the 2018-19 season. In the fall, the duo earned the B Doubles Flight Title in the Richmond Spiders Invitational.

Junior Inaki Rivero Crespo finished the season with a 14-8 overall record in singles play, also earning the Maroon Singles Title in the Elon Fall Invitational after going a perfect 4-0 in tournament play.

Sophomore Timo Zgraggen finished the 2018-19 season with an 11-4 overall singles record and in addition, he earned the D Singles Bracket Title after going 4-0 in the Richmond Spiders Invitational in the fall. 

The Atlantic 10 Tournament will be held at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. VCU will face the winner of No. 8 seeded Duquesne and No. 9 seeded Saint Louis on Friday, April 26 at 9 a.m.
