Kiara Porter joined VCU Athletics in July 2021 as Director of Operations for Track & Field. Prior to her current position, she worked at UNC Greensboro, serving Assistant Director of Business Operations from February 2018 to July 2020, and as Director of Business Operations from July 2020 to July 2021. At UNC Greensboro, Porter was in charge of administering procurement for all sports and departments, processing individual and team travel advances and reimbursements, reconciling purchasing card expenses for over 50 employees, and generating transaction reports to assist coaches in monitoring of fund balances.
Porter returns to VCU after an illustrious track & field career as a Ram. Throughout her career, she was a five-time NCAA All American in the 400-meter dash and a three-time NCAA Academic All American. She collected international gold medals in the 4x400 relay at the 2012 World Junior Championships and  2014 NACAC U23 Championships. She was an 11-time school record holder, ranging from the 60-meter dash to 500-meter dash, including relays, and captured 20 conference titles in the CAA and Atlantic 10.
Porter graduated cum laude from VCU in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Planning. She holds a Master's in Education in Sport Leadership from VCU's Center for Sport Leadership, graduating in 2017. She is a member of Women Leaders in College Sports and was a recipient of the 2020-21 Women Leaders in College Sports Women of Color Membership Scholarship.
A native of Yorktown, Virginia, Porter currently resides in Richmond.
