Michal Voscek

Former VCU Tennis standout Michal Voscek will remain on campus in 2016-17 as a graduate assistant.

The 2016 Atlantic 10 Conference’s Most Outstanding Performer, Voscek piled up 79 career singles wins for the Rams, including 33 on the No. 1 court. He was 17-7 in singles play as a senior in 2015-16.

A native of Bratislava, Sloviakia, the 6-foot-2 Voscek won at least 20 singles matches three times during his VCU career.

But his success as a collegian wasn’t merely contained to the tennis court. His academic reputation may exceed his athletic accomplishments. A 4-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, Voscek was selected to receive prestigious postgraduate scholarships from both the Atlantic 10 Conference, as well as the NCAA.

He is currently enrolled in VCU’s Urban and Regional Planning masters program and is working closely with the university’s Office of Sustainability on proposals to transition VCU to solar energy.
