Juan Fajardo-Ortiz

Former Ram Juan Fajardo-Ortiz wrapped up his first season as Director of Operations following the 2023 year.

Fajardo-Ortiz helped coach the Rams to the 2023 Atlantic 10 Regular Season title and Andrey Salmeron was named A-10 Rookie of the Year.

The former Ram returns to VCU after spending the previous three seasons as a graduate assistant at Coastal Carolina where he helped the Chanticleers make the 2021 NCAA Tournament. 

Prior to joining the Coastal staff, Fajardo-Ortiz began his coaching career in the youth game for Fredericksburg Football Club in 2016. He then took a position as an assistant coach at Ashland University in Ohio where he helped lead the Eagles to a GLIAC Tournament Title and an appearance in the NCAA Division II national tournament.

Fajardo-Ortiz played for VCU from 2013-16 where he made 62 appearances and started 58 matches for the Rams. He was a member of the 2013 squad that advanced to the NCAA Tournament, and he earned a pair of All-Atlantic 10 honors. He was also a member of the Honduras U-17 and U-20 national teams.

Fajardo-Ortiz graduated from VCU in 2017 and he earned his MBA while a member of the Ashland coaching staff.
