Former VCU star Ted Brown joined the Ramsas a volunteer coach prior to the 2010 season. Armed with a wealthof collegiate and professional experience, Brown is an excitingaddition to the Black and Gold coaching ranks.  

Brown is one of the most decorated players inthe history of VCU Golf and recently earned a full Nationwide Tourcard.

“Ted's wealth of knowledge, gained from seven yearsknocking around the mini tours, will serve as a great source ofinformation for the team,” said VCU Head Coach Matt Ball.“I have seen how Ted's game has really matured, enabling himto advance to the Nationwide Tour.  With his age andexperience, he is able to relate to and convey his lessons learnedthrough the school of hard knocks to our players, most of whom havethe desire to play professionally.  It's great to have Tedaround when he is in town."

A two-time All-Colonial Athletic Association selection, Brown ledthe Rams to three straight league titles from2000-02. In 2002, hefired a CAA Championship record 8-under 64 at The Crossings on theway to individual medalist honors. His historic round included justthe second hole-in-one in CAA Championship history. Brown was alsothe runner-up at the 2003 CAA Championship.

In 2002, he helped the Rams qualify for the NCAAChampionships at the Ohio State Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.Additionally, Brown qualified as an individual for the 2003 NCAAChampionships.

In December of 2009, Brown finished five-underat the 108-hole PGA Qualifying Tournament at Bear Lakes CountryClub in West Palm Beach, Fla. Although he fell just shy of earninghis full PGA Tour card, Brown earned a spot on the Nationwide Tourby virtue of his top-50 finish.

A native of Peterborough, Ontario, Brownwas one of four VCU players recently named to the CAA’sSilver Anniversary Team.
