THE BASICS

  • Quickly became a fan favorite for his defensive presence earning the “Mo Says No” chants at the Siegel Center
  • Big, physical, low post body who possesses a 7-1 wingspan
  • Efficient scorer. Enters the 2016-17 season as the program's all-time leader in field goal percentage (.590). 
  • Praised for his ability to run the floor and provide a physical presence inside
  • His game has been compared to Charles Barkley and DeJuan Blair
  • Recognized with the "Black History in the Making" Award from VCU's Criminal Justice program

2015-16: REDSHIRT JUNIOR

  • Named to the A-10's All-Conference Third Team, All-Defensive Team and All-Academic Team. 
  • Started all 36 games for the Rams. 
  • Set a school single-season record for field goal percentage (.612).
  • Averaged 10.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per contest. 
  • Best outing came in a 79-69 road win against Davidson (1/29) where he recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. 
  • Tallied 20 double digit scoring outings. 
  • Scored a career-high 21 points on 10-of-12 shooting in a 83-67 win against Rhode Island (2/16). 
  • Scored 12 points and brought in 12 rebounds in a 87-74 victory against Richmond (2/19). 
  • Registered 68 blocks on the season. 

2014-15: REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE

  • Named to the Atlantic 10 Conference's All-Defensive and All-Academic Teams.
  • Started all 36 games for the Black and Gold.
  • Grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds and blocked five shots against Old Dominion (11/29).
  • Recorded his first collegiate double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds against Dayton (2/28).
  • Established a career-high with 18 points and was two rebounds shy of a double-double against Davidson (3/14).
  • Blocked five shots and grabbed nine boards versus La Salle (2/11).
  • Scored at least 10 points in 10 games.
2013-14: REDSHIRT FRESHMAN
  • Recorded double-digit figures (10 points) for first time in collegiate career and grabbed six boards against Winthrop (11/16).
  • Established a career-high 11 rebounds against Florida State (11/21).
  • Blocked nearly four shots per 40 minutes, which ranked second in the Atlantic 10.

2012-13: FRESHMAN

  • Sat out 2012-13 season after being ruled a partial qualifier by the NCAA
  • Earned Dean's List both semesters in 2012-13
  • Recognized with the "Black History in the Making" Award from VCU's Criminal Justice program

PRIOR TO VCU:

  • Listed as the No. 9 recruit in Virginia, according to Rivals.com.
  • Averaged nearly 20 points and over 10 rebounds per game during his senior campaign at Middleburg and was named to the First-Team All-State squad.
  • As a junior, he led his Middleburg Academy squad with 16 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks per game. His outstanding play earned him First-Team
  • All-State accolades.
  • Drew interest on the recruiting circuit from Nevada, Delaware, George Washington and Wake Forest.

PERSONAL

  • Son of Saudatu Koroma
  • Received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice in December of 2015. Currently pursuing a master's in criminal justice. 
  • Completed an internship with the Virginia General Assembly in 2016. 
  • Completed an internship at Richmond law firm McGuireWoods during the 2015-16 fall semester.
