AS A JUNIOR (2011-12):

The Basics:
· Played in 22 games for the Rams in2011-12.
· He finished the season with five pointsand seven rebounds in 61 minutes of action.

Highlights:
· Played critical minutes in VCU’sNCAA Tournament win over Wichita State, drawing several charges andchanging momentum in the first half
· Tied his career high with four points on2-of-3 shooting, against Towson on Dec. 8. He also played aseason-high eight minutes against the Tigers.
· Grabbed a career high two rebounds againstGeorge Mason on Feb. 25.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2010-11):

The Basics:
· Hinton saw action in 19 games for VCU.
· He notched a career-high five field goalsand 12 points on the season.

Highlights:
· Was a huge part of VCU’s 89-85 winover perennial power UCLA at Madison Square Garden with four pointsand a blocked shot. The victory played a significant role in securing the Black andGold’s NCAA Tournament berth in March.
· Registered a career-high 15 minutesagainst Towson.
· Scored three points against George Masonafter completing a three-point play.

AS A FRESHMAN (2009-10):

"David is a very,very unselfish and team oriented player. He's just the type of guyyou would want to be around even if it had nothing to do with thebasketball team."

The Basics:
· Played in nine games, but was hampered byan ankle injury that kept him out of action for six games.

Highlights:
· Tallied at least one rebound in each ofhis first four appearances of the 2009-10 campaign.
· Scored his first career points on a lay-uplate in a home win over UNC Wilmington on Jan. 2.

After basketball, Hinton hopes toone day become a product manager of Nike. He owns over 300 pairs ofshoes.

PRIOR TO VCU:

· Starring for four years at R.J. ReynoldsHigh School, Hinton helped lead the Demons to a pair of 4A WestSectional runner-up finishes.
· Hinton was a starter and important factorin the Demons’ run to the Central Piedmont Conferenceregular-season and tournament championships during his juniorcampaign.
· After leading the Demons in rebounding andblocked shots, Hinton earned All-Central Piedmont Conferenceaccolades as a senior. He helped R.J. Reynolds to 19-9 record thatseason.
· Hinton’s leadership skills wererecognized by R.J. Reynolds Head Coach Billy Martin, who named himteam captain prior to his senior campaign.
· Along with playing for the Demons, Hintonspent time with the Kappa Magic AAU squad near his Winston-Salem,N.C. hometown.
