Matt Hart joined Ryan Odom's staff as VCU Basketball's first director of analytics in April of 2023.
He also spent the 2022-23 campaign as a member of Odom's staff, then at Utah State, when he served as a graduate manager. The Aggies won 26 games and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament during that season.Â

Hart previously served as an assistant coach at Daemen University in the 2021-22 season, where he was responsible for scouting, leading on-court workouts for guards and perimeter players, and assisted in recruiting.

Hart was the director of player development/director of video operations at George Washington from 2018-19 before playing professionally in the United States, Canada, Ireland and Serbia from 2017-18 and 2019-21.

Hart started his collegiate career at Hamilton College in the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons. There, he was First Team All-NESCAC and an All-American Honorable Mention in 2014. He then played at George Washington for the next three seasons, finishing his career with 1,171 points.

Hart graduated from George Washington in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Sciences before earning a master’s of ?Business Administration from Purdue University Global in 2020.
