As head athletic trainer, Wall, in conjunction with VCU medical staff, manages the daily healthcare of the VCU Men’s Basketball team and operation of the training room. Those duties include daily injury and illness management, evaluations, treatments, rehabilitation protocols, corrective exercises, recovery strategies, referrals and post-operative care.
Wall works closely with the coaches and VCU Men’s Basketball strength and conditioning coach Daniel Roose to provide the best plan for players to maximize their health and athletic performance, in addition to coverage for all workouts, practices, shootarounds, and games.
In his first season, Wall’s hands-on injury management and treatment plans helped guide the Rams through a rash of injuries early in the season. With Wall’s post-operative care and rehabilitation protocols, sophomore guard Ace Baldwin returned to the court a month ahead of schedule after undergoing surgery to repair a torn achilles.
The following year, Wall also played a critical role in Baldwin's return from another injury late in non-conference play. Wall's care helped Baldwin return just 12 days after hand surgery and kept the Rams on track to win the 2023 A-10 Regular Season and Tournament Championships, on the way to an NCAA Tourament berth. Baldwin went on to win A-10 Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
