Head Coach Shaka Smart rounded out his VCU men's basketballcoaching staff with a familiar face, announcing the hiring offormer graduate assistant Dwight Perry as the Rams'  new video coordinator.

Perry has spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistantunder Smart and his staff, during which VCU has posted a 56-16mark, including back-to-back trips to the NCAA Tournament Round of32.

"I'm extremely appreciative of the opportunity Coach Smart hasgiven me to stay with the program," Perry said. "I'm grateful forthe chance to continue to work with our student-athletes on a dailybasis."

Prior to his time in Richmond, Perry spent two seasons as anintern with the Stanford men's basketball program.

The Durham, North Carolina native spent three years as a memberof the University of Kentucky basketball team, where he earned hisdegree in Business Management.

Perry is also a graduate of VCU's Center for Sports Leadership,earning his master's in May of 2013.
