Clay Connor was elevated to director of player development in June of 2022 following two seasons as a graduate assistant for the Rams.
A native of Maryland, Connor helped VCU to a pair of postseason appearances, including the 2021 NCAA Tournament during two seasons as a graduate assistant. He received his master’s degree in Sport Leadership from VCU’s Center for Sport Leadership in May of 2022.
Prior to joining the Rams, Conner was a four-year basketball standout at Shippensburg. In 2018 Conner helped lead the Big Red to a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament. In 2017, Connor helped lift Shippensburg to the first conference championship in program history. He graduated as the Big Red’s career leader in free throw percentage.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Shippensburg in 2018.
