Alex Wharton

Alex Wharton joined the Rams as video coordinator in prior to the 2015-16 campaign.

Wharton had previously served on VCU Coach Will Wade’s staff at Chattanooga from 2014-15, first as video coordinator, then as director of basketball operations.
 
Prior to Chattanooga, Wharton worked in internal operations at Houston during the 2013-14 season. From 2012-13, Wharton was a graduate assistant at Angelo State in San Angelo, Texas.
 
Wharton played two seasons at Grayson College, a Texas junior college. He later transferred to Houston, where he completed his bachelor’s degree, but did not play basketball. Instead, he launched his coaching career by serving as an assistant at Lone Star Community College in Houston.
 
A native of Houston, Texas, Alex received his bachelor’s in sports administration from Houston in 2011. He added a master’s in sports administration in 2013.
