  • Expectations are high for VCU in 2019-20. The Rams have been ranked as high as No. 20 in the Associated Press Top 25 and No. 19 in the USA Today/Coaches Poll.  VCU, which returns four starters from last season, was selected first in the Atlantic 10 Conference's Preseason Poll. The Rams return 88.9 percent of their scoring from a 25-8 team that won the A-10 regular season crown and reached the NCAA Tournament

  • Last time out: Freshman guard Bones Hyland and senior De'Riante Jenkins scored 16 points apiece, but VCU was unable to withstand a decisive second-half run at 13th-ranked Dayton. The Flyers prevailed 79-65

  • VCU is 5-4 all-time against St. Bonaventure, including 2-1 here at the Siegel Center. The series has included a few wild finishes in recent years, including a buzzer-beater by the Bonnies in 2015 and a VCU overtime road win marked by an ill-advised court storming and an administrative technical foul on Bona with 0.4 seconds left in 2017

  • Senior guard Marcus Evans needs 12 points to reach 2,000 for his career. Senior guard Issac Vann needs 14 points to reach 1,000

  • No program has won more games in A-10 play than VCU since the Rams joined the league for the 2012-13 campaign. VCU is 91-35 in conference play over that span, a .722 winning percentage

  • VCU Head Coach Mike Rhoades will be in search of his 300th career victory today. Rhoades is 299-156 in 16 seasons as a head coach at VCU, Rice and Randolph-Macon

  • VCU's win over George Mason was the 1,000th in the program's history. VCU is 1,000-443 in 52 seasons since Richmond Professional Institute merged with the Medical College of Virginia in 1968 to form VCU

  • VCU recorded its first 6-0 start in school history when it knocked off Alabama State 78-62 on Nov. 25

  • VCU is currently 25th in defensive efficiency (90.1) and ranks third nationally in defensive turnover percentage (26.6)

  • The Rams rank seventh nationally in turnover margin (+5.4)

  • VCU has sold out 145 consecutive home games at the Stuart C. Siegel Center, a streak that dates to the 2010-11 season
