RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Basketball forward Mo Alie-Cox was named Virginia Lottery Student-Athlete of the Week for his big week on the court against Richmond and St. Bonaventure.

In an exciting game at St. Bonaventure on Saturday, Feb. 4, Alie-Cox found his stroke, leading the team with a season-high 20 points while hauling in with four rebounds and three blocked shots. It was Alie-Cox's third time scoring 20 or more points in his career.

Alie-Cox shot 5-of-6 from the floor and scored 13 when the Richmond Spiders visited E.J. Wade Arena on Wednesday, Feb. 1. He also had one blocked shot and came away with two steals.

The graduate student from Alexandria, Virginia appears to be getting hot at the right time for the Rams, averaging 18.5 points in his last two games. He averaged eight points in the four games going into last week.

Alie-Cox has been a menace defensively in the paint in his last six games, blocking three shots in four of those six and averaging 2.5 blocks per game in that span.

The Rams head to the Charles E. Smith Center in Washington, D.C. to face the George Washington Colonials on Wednesday, Feb. 8.  The tip is scheduled for 9 p.m.
