RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Men's Basketball forward Justin Tillman was named Virginia Lottery Student-Athlete of the Week this week for his part in leading the Rams to victories in two contests last week.

The Detroit, Michigan native provided support off the bench in a matchup at Duquesne on Wednesday, Jan. 4, scoring 16 points and snatching seven rebounds.

The junior followed up that performance with a double-double at home against UMass on Saturday, Jan. 7.  Fueled by the energy of Ram Nation, who fought through the dangerous conditions of Richmond's first snow storm of 2017, Tillman achieved his first double-double of the season, scoring 12 and recovering 10 rebounds for the Black and Gold.

Tillman has seen marked improvement this season, currently scoring 10.1 points per game and bringing down 7.1 rebounds per game.

During the Rams' seven-game winning streak, Tillman is averaging 8.9 points per game in addition to averaging eight rebounds per game.

Tillman and the Rams will look to extend their winning streak to eight games on their home court in E.J. Wade Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 6 p.m.
