RICHMOND, Va. – Friday night at the Verizon Wireless Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center provides Ram Nation with a unique opportunity. Not only will it be the first chance to see the nationally-ranked 2014-15 VCU Men's Basketball team in action against an opponent, but also provides an opportunity to help out needy families in Central Virginia.
Once again, VCU Athletics has partnered with Puritan Cleaners to support their "Coats for Kids" program at Friday night's exhibition game against California University (Pa.).
"The Coats for Kids initiative is truly one of the great outreach programs in all of Central Virginia. We're fortunate to have corporate partners like Puritan Cleaners who have such a community-minded approach," Senior Associate Athletic Director Robby Robinson said. "Our fans rarely disappoint when they are called on, and it wouldn't surprise me a bit to see hundreds of coats pouring through the doors on Friday night destined for needy families in our area."
The first 300 coats will receive a free 2014-15 VCU Rams Team Photo (8x10). Clean out your closet and bring your coat or coats to help out needy families in the Central Virginia region.
There will be a stand on the concourse of the arena on Saturday night. For more information on the program, check out: http://www.puritancleaners.com/puritancleanerscoatsforkids.php
