RICHMOND, Va. – The Freight Train is being nationally recognized as quite a load to handle.
Known as the Freight Train to the VCU faithful, senior Treveon Graham was recently named a Preseason All-American by the Blue Ribbon Basketball Yearbook. Former NBA guard Eric Maynor was the last All-American for the Rams.
This past summer, Graham was one of just three players in the country that attended the Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Chris Paul Skills Academy.
He enters his final season with the Black & Gold as the favorite for Atlantic 10 Preseason Player of the Year after earning back-to-back All-Atlantic 10 honors, including first team accolades last year.
Last year, the Temple Hills, Md. native scored in double-figures in 32 of VCU's 35 games. He led the team with 15.8 points per game and second on the squad with 7.0 rebounds per night.
His 553 points were the 10th-most in a single season in program history and he enters his senior year with 1,349 career points, good for 19th on VCU's all-time scoring list.
Graham and the Rams will host the Black & Gold Scrimmage on Sunday, October 26th at the Verizon Wireless Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center, inside the HDL, Inc. Athletic Village. Doors will open at 4 p.m. with the game getting underway at 5 p.m.
