The clinic begins with a VCU practice at the Franklin Street Gym practice facility. After breaking for lunch, the participants will have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers, which include Smart himself, Bruce Pearl and Pete Gillen.

Bruce Pearl spent 19 years as a collegiate head coach with the final six coming at the University of Tennessee. During his 19 years, he made 17 NCAA Tournament trips and racked up 442 career victories. During his time with the Vols, Pearl guided his squad to the Sweet Sixteen in three of his six seasons. He currently works with ESPN's college basketball coverage.

Pete Gillen spent 20 years as a head coach at the Division I level, including stops at Xavier, Providence and the University of Virginia. He guided his squads to nine NCAA Tournament trips and racked up 392 career wins. He also was an assistant under Don Nelson for the 1994 USA Basketball National Team at the FIBA World Championships. He is currently serving as a college basketball analyst for CBS Sports Network.

Shaka Smart, head coach at VCU, has piled up 111 wins in his first four seasons with the Rams, the second-highest total by any coach in NCAA history. He has helped guide VCU to three straight NCAA Tournaments, racking up a postseason record of 12-3 over his first four seasons. In 2011, he led the Rams on what many call the most incredible run in NCAA Tournament when VCU reached the Final Four. With his "Havoc" style of play, the Rams have led the country in steals per game and turnover margin in each of the past two seasons.

Each clinic participant will receive a VCU Nike polo, a clinic booklet and admittance into the coaches social. The cost of the clinic is $70.00 per person attending.
