RICHMOND, Va. – VCU's Ian Peng has been rewarded for the red-hot start to his sophomore season.
Peng was named Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Golfer of the Week Friday, days after recording his second top-five finish of the fall season.
A native of Chang Hua, Taiwan, Peng shot 10-under, including a second-round 65, to earn a share of third place at the VCU Invitational Sept. 16-17 on the Country Club of Virginia's Tuckahoe Creek Course.
In two tournaments this fall, Peng has placed second and third. He's placed in the top five in three of his past four tournaments, dating back to last spring.
Peng has fired three rounds in the 60s in two fall tournaments, and his stroke average of 68.17 leads the team.
The Rams will return to action Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at the JT Poston Invitational at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley in Sapphire, N.C.
