While with VCU
  • Has appeared in 47 of VCU's 57 games over the past three years
  • Scored her first career goal last fall in a 2-0 win over Davidson on Sept. 14, 2012. The goal was ended up being the game-winner
  • Speedy forward that will be key to the Rams' success this fall
Prior to VCU
  • Led nearby Cosby High School to its first-ever VHSL AAA State Tournament appearance.
  • Three-time First Team All-Dominion District and All-Academic selection (2007, 2008 and 2009). 
  • Two-time First Team All-Central Region nod in 2008 and 2009.
  • Selected Second Team All-State as a senior. 
  • Team’s Most Valuable Player in junior and senior seasons. 
  • Named 2009 First Team All-Metro by the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
Getting to know Kelsey Powell
  • Lived in Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota before the family settled in Midlothian, Va. in 1996.
  • Also ran four seasons of indoor track, two seasons of outdoor track and played three years of soccer in high school.
  • A member of Swift Creek Fusion Field Hockey Club, which participated in theh National Festival, the Disney Showcase and placed first at the ESPN Rise Games.
