Burrows enters his third season with the Black & Gold after joining Head Coach Laura Baker and assistant Lauren van de Kamp to round out the Black & Gold sidelines in 2014.
He joined VCU after following a successful run at Robert Morris, where he helped guide the Colonials to a record-breaking season in 2013.
"We're excited to have Lindsay on the sidelines with us. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge, both from the playing and coaching perspective," Baker said.
In 2013 with Robert Morris, Burrows was party to 11 wins, a school-record that shattered the old mark of eight. The Colonials also reached the postseason for the first time, reaching the MAAC Championship game.
Prior to coming stateside with RMU, Burrows piled up both playing and coaching experience at locations all over the world.
After starting his career as a midfielder, Burrows made the transition to a defender where he spent the majority of his career. Out of the many honors bestowed to Burrows at various levels of play, he earned the Player's Player Award for the Australian Country team in 2008.
Burrows spent time in the United Kingdom as well as the Netherlands both as a player and as a coach. During his time in the Netherlands, Lindsay helped his club achieve two championships, one as a player and the other as a coach. With both championships coming in the same year, the season became one of the most successful in the club's history.
Prior to accepting the position at RMU, Burrows worked in sport development with the local government in Australia. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Sciences in 2004 from the University of Western Sydney.
