- The Rams went up 2-0 in the 52nd minute as McNamara was again able to beat the keeper in a one-on-one and score at the near post.
- Rasure made it 3-0 after Wake Forest was whistled for a foul inside the circle and gave VCU a penalty stroke.
- The Deamon Deacons cut VCU's lead to 3-1 in the 62nd minute with a goal from Jule Grashoff.
