RICHMOND - VCU Baseball senior Sean Thompson has been a staple in the starting rotation since his breakout role during the 2015 Super Regional run. Now, Thompson will take his talents to the professional level, as he will sign a free agent contract with the Chicago White Sox.

A native of Indiana, Pa., his career moment came as the winning pitcher in the 2015 regional against Dallas Baptist, helping the Rams clinch the program’s first ever trip to a Super Regional. Since then, he has written his name all VCU record book in multiple categories, finishing second all-time in wins (27), fourth all-time in games started (51), and tenth in both innings pitched (300.1) and strikeouts (249).
