RICHMOND, Va. – The VCU Rams put up a season of 36 wins overall in 2016, tops of all teams in the Atlantic 10 Conference. With such a record, the A-10 recognized Matt Davis, Sam Donko, and Michael Dailey in their All-Conference selections, with Dailey bringing home Rookie of the Year honors.

Both Davis and Donko received All-Conference First Team honors, while Davis also raked in an All-Academic Team selection. Along with his Rookie of the Year honors, Dailey was also named to the A-10 All-Rookie Team.

Dailey dazzled as a freshman, putting up a 1.60 ERA in 13 appearances for the Rams. He finished the regular season with a 5-0 record, while going 3-0 in conference play. He allowed only 11 earned runs all season, striking out 46 batters as well. He came within an out of a no-hitter at George Washington on April 29, and was twice a recipient of an A-10 weekly award.

Davis was a mainstay in the middle of the field for VCU, starting all 53 games for the Black and Gold at shortstop. He put up a .320 batting average that led the team, slashing 71 hits with nine doubles, one triple, five home runs, and 30 RBI. He also put up a slugging percentage of .437 while scoring 36 runs.

Donko was by far the most pleasant surprise in the back of the bullpen for the Rams, putting up a total of 18 saves that led the nation. In a team-high 28 appearances, the guy known as "Daddy Donks" put up an ERA of 2.84 with a 3-2 record in 50.2 innings. He gave up 16 earned runs with 14 walks and 45 strikeouts.

Saint Joseph's Deon Stafford, Jr was named the A-10 Player of the Year, while Rhode Island's Tyler Wilson received Pitcher of the Year honors. To pair with Wilson, Rhody's Head Coach Raphael Cerrato was named the Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year.
