Biography

2023/GRADUATE
  • Appeared in nine games, making three starts
  • Slashed .188/.350/.250
  • Made season debut, after suffering injury in the fall, against Old Dominion (Apr. 25), drawing a walk and scoring a run
  • In first start of the season, went 1-for-4 with a two-RBI double
  • Had back-to-back games with one hit, at Davidson (May 6) and at Longwood (May 9)
2022/GRADUATE
  • Atlantic 10 Champion
  • Appeared in 47 games, including 41 starts
  • Hit .237 with a .358 on-base percentage and a .353 slugging percentage
  • Collected 33 hits, including 4 doubles and 4 home runs, for 29 runs and 21 RBIs
  • Made his VCU debut against Rider on Feb. 18
  • Went 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs, while also throwing out a runner trying to steal third base in a 15-5 win at George Mason on April 3
  • Across two wins at Richmond on April 16 & 17, Selden went 2-for-4 with a double, 2 walks, a hit-by-pitch, a stolen base, 4 runs, and 3 RBIs
  • Hit a walk-off home run, his first homer as a Ram, in the 10th inning of a 9-7 win over No. 8 Virginia, a part of a 2-for-5 night with 3 RBIs.
  • Went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, a walk, 2 runs, and 4 RBIs in a 9-8 win at Dayton on May 1
  • In a sweep of George Washington May 7-8, went 5-for-7 with a double, 4 walks, and 3 runs
  • Hit a solo home run in an 8-1 win over Georgia at the Chapel Hill Regional on June 3
PRIOR TO VCU
  • High School: Conference 23 Runner ups in 2017, advanced to the Regional Semi-final game that year; Earned All-District and All-Conference Honors in 2017 
  • College (Randolph-Macon College): Played for Ray Hedrick at R-MC; Was a member of the 2018 South Regional Championship team that earned the first Division III College World Series birth in program history, won the Old Dominion Athletic Conference regular season crown 3 consecutive years (2018-21); Earned 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-State, and 3rd Team All-Regional Awards in 2021; Finished career 14th all time for career batting average, hitting .351
