VCU CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS 2026-27 SEASON
VCU Cheer tryouts will take place June 6th and 7th from 12-5 pm each day at the Stuart C. Siegel Center Aux Gym. Registration will take place from 11:30 a.m.-12 p.m. on June 6th. This is a closed tryout and no spectators will be allowed in the Siegel Center. Both days are required in order to be considered for the team.
Cheerleaders will be evaluated on material taught at tryouts, tumbling, jumps, stunts and overall performance ability. All cheerleaders must complete the form below by June 5th in order to try out:

While there are no minimum requirements, previous experience is a must. The team is picked based on position: flyer, base and back for group stunts.

SQUAD BREAKDOWNS
- The sideline squad will consist of athletes that will cheer for basketball games and select VCU events. A select group will travel for A-10 and NCAA tournaments. Practice is 3 days a week, totaling 5-6 hours. There will be appearances throughout the season for various promotions or celebrations.
- The competition squad will comprise athletes from both sideline and competition only athletes. Squad size will be determined by talent availability. They will understand that this is a personally funded endeavor and limited university resources will be available. Squad will be selected in the Fall. Practices will be part of the sideline as the season progresses.
