RICHMOND, Va. – VCU women's soccer freshman forward Monique McEnhimer was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week following her seven-point week, the league announced on Monday.
 
McEnhimer had a career week, extending her team lead in goals, points, shots and shots on goal with three goals and an assist in the Rams' two games. Impressively, she factored in on four of VCU's six goals on the week.
 
In VCU's victory over St. Bonaventure, McEnhimer scored her first career brace and added an assist for a career-high five-point game. On Sunday, she followed her spectacular Thursday performance with her third goal of the week and accounted for five of the Rams' 10 shots on goal. Her five points against the Bonnies and five SOG against the Dukes were both the most by any Ram in a game this season.
 
On the week, the Richmond native led all Rams in shots (10), shots on goal (8), points (7) and goals (3) this week.
 
The rookie was joined in this week's awards by Offensive Player of the Week Hope Kim (Saint Louis) and Defensive Player of the Week Kasey Cannistraro (Dayton).
 
McEnhimer is the first Ram to earn a weekly award this season and it's the first conference honor of her career. She and the squad return to action on the road at Saint Joseph's on Saturday, October 3.
