Letizia Galli combined for seven blocks to pace VCU, which fell to reigning MAC Champion Toledo Friday in Morgantown, West Virginia.

OPENING VOLLEY
- Boledovicova registered four kills and four blocks for the Black and Gold
- Galli added three blocks, including a solo, as well as three kills
- Junior libero Kayla Foley supplied 14 digs from the back row for the Rams
- Jessica Costlow led all players with 14 kills for Toledo, while two other Rockets recorded double-digit kills
THE DIFFERENCE
- VCU was unable to generate much offense against the Rockets' stout defensive front. The Rams hit .052 overall in the match and finished with 24 kills
- Toledo hit .286 in the match, including better than .300 in both the first and the third sets
- The Black and Gold looked to square the match up in the second set. Freshman outside hitter Molly McCall drove a well-placed spike into the back left corner to give VCU a 9-8 lead in the frame. But the Rockets answered with a 6-0 run to take a 14-9 lead on the way to victory. The Rams would not lead again on the afternoon
