THE SHORT STORY
Despite VCU men's soccer firing eight shots on goal in the second half, the Rams were unable to get to erase the first-half deficit. The Rams fell in their home opener to the Knights, 2-0, on Friday.

• The Rams didn't allow a shot on goal and only gave up two chances in the second half of play, while taking 25 shots, including eight on goal
• VCU's 27 shots were the most since Nov. 2, 2012, when the Rams had 37 at Richmond

HOW IT HAPPENED

• UCF opened the scoring with a pair of goals in the 34^th and 36^th minutes by Knights' leading-scorer Drew Hansen and Hugo Vogel, respectively
• Five minutes into the second half, Vazquez was issued a red card
• VCU maintained strong possession in the second half, placing eight shots on goal
• In the middle of the second half, VCU spent three minutes in the final third, taking five shots and drawing a pair of corners, but were unable to get past Hébert in goal
• The Rams continued to press to the final whistle, letting loose five shots in the final three minutes, but fell 2-0 to UCF
