VCU baseball climbed back to tie for second in the Atlantic 10 with a dominant series sweep of Saint Louis, completing the 3-0 weekend with a 10-7 victory on Sunday at The Diamond. The Rams combined for 12 hits and double-digit runs for the second time in the series.

LEADING OFF:
- Zach Peters, who was credited with his fourth win of the season, crossed the 60-strikeout threshold on the season to tie Patrick Steitz with a team-leading 66
- Everett Vaughan (1), Cooper Campbell (5) and Peters (7) combined for 13 strikeouts, the most in a game since opening weekend
- Eight of VCU's nine starters reached base, with four reaching safely three times
- Trent Adelman and Nate Kirkpatrick recorded three hits apiece
- VCU tied its most A-10 wins in a season since 2022
- The Rams' fourth conference sweep of the season also tied for VCU's most in its Atlantic 10 history
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Saint Louis bats got off to a loud start, working up a 6-0 lead through two frames, using a two-run triple to take a first-inning lead before tacking on four runs on three hits in the second
- VCU tied the game at 6-6 with two runs over each of the next three frames, including a two-run sacrifice fly from Michael Petite and run-scoring base hits from Quinn Maher, Adelman and Kirkpatrick
- In the sixth inning, SLU scored its final run on an RBI single off the bat of Krew Bond, earning a 7-6 lead in the top half of the frame
- The Rams had an immediate answer in the home half of the inning, scoring four runs to take the decisive 10-7 lead
- Alec Warden came across with the tying run on a Dante DeFranco single, before Petite walked to load the bases for Jacob Lee's go-ahead walk and Nick Flores laced a single through the left side to score two
- Peters allowed two baserunners over the final three frames, slamming the door on the Rams' sweep of the Billikens, 10-7
