HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One
- Richmond scratched the game's first run across in the first inning, aided by an error to start the scoring

- The game was suspended in the bottom of the seventh inning with VCU leading 4-1
- On Friday, Richmond tied the game at 4-4 with a home run in the first two batters faced following the suspension, but again VCU had an answer
- Kirkpatrick drew a one-out walk and Maher singled, setting up for Warden and Dante DeFranco to double in runs for VCU's 7-4 victory
- Peters went scoreless for the final two innings to advance the Black & Gold to the semifinals
Game Two
- VCU got on the board first, 2-0, with a pair of RBI doubles from DeFranco and Lethert
- With a pair of RBI base hits, Rhode Island evened the score, 2-2, which would hold until Kirkpatrick blasted his solo home run to deep left field to take VCU's 3-2 lead
- Two Rhody big flies produced another lead change, plating three runs in the sixth that VCU would not be able to overcome, falling 5-4 in the afternoon game
