RICHMOND, Va. – VCU and Memphis have agreed to a new, home-and-home series that will begin during the 2026-27 season.
 
The Rams and Tigers will kick off their series on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026 at FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn. A return contest will follow at the Stuart C. Siegel Center in either 2027 or 2028.
 
VCU and Memphis have previously met nine times. The Tigers lead the series 6-3. The two programs last met on Dec. 6, 2023, when the Tigers squeaked out an 85-80 overtime win at the Siegel Center.
 
In addition to next season's road trip to Memphis, VCU's non-conference schedule is starting to take shape. The Rams will welcome N.C. State to the Siegel Center and will also participate in the 2026 Southwest Maui Invitational against a field that will include Arizona, which advanced to the Final Four over the weekend, as well BYU, Clemson, Colorado State, Ole Miss, Providence and Washington.
 
Led by first-year Head Coach Phil Martelli Jr., the Rams finished 28-8 in 2025-26 and captured a share of the Atlantic 10 Conference regular season title, as well as the league's tournament championship. VCU knocked off sixth-seeded North Carolina 82-78 in overtime in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Greenville, S.C.
