Richmond, Va. -Â VCU Men's Tennis Head Coach Dimi Kutrovsky has announced the signing of Taisei Hata.
Hata joins the Rams from Soka-shi, Japan, where he posted a strong series of results on the ITF Junior Tour in 2025. In singles, he finished as runner-up at the J100 Guatemala tournament and reached the semifinals at J100 Wuhan. In doubles, Hata captured the title at J100 Guatemala while also recording runner-up finishes at J200 Monterrey, J100 Guatemala, and J100 Wuhan. He added another deep run with a semifinal appearance at J300 Kuching.

Hata will join the Rams for the 2026-27 season.
