• VCU fell behind 6-0 with 7:19 left in the first quarter but used a 20-3 run that spanned quarters and was capped off by a Ty Williams jumper to lead 20-9 with 8:16 left before halftime
• The Rams pushed their lead to 22-11 but a Loyola chipped away, outscoring VCU 14-7 and cut VCU's lead to 29-25 at the half
• The Rams held steady in a back-and-forth third quarter and had a 45-41 lead heading into the final 10 minutes of the game
• The Rams led 49-45 but the Ramblers used a 1562 run to take a 61-51 lead with 1:47 left in the game
