VCU baseball was unable to overcome No. 8 North Carolina in a midweek matchup on Wednesday, falling to the Tar Heels, 13-3 in seven innings.

LEADING OFF:
- Alec Warden had a 2-3 day with a run scored
- First baseman Quinn Maher singled in a pair of VCU's runs, Nick Flores accounted for the Rams' other RBI
- Michael Petite, Jacob Lee and Teige Lethert each drew a pair of walks
- The Rams' eight walks drawn matched their season best and were the second-most allowed by North Carolina in a game this season

- North Carolina opened the scoring in the first inning, taking a 2-0 lead with
- VCU scored its three runs early in the contest, Petite came home on a Flores RBI groundout in the third and Maher drove in Warden and Ethan Acevedo in the fourth frame
- The Tar Heels used a series of big innings to extend to a 10-3 lead in the sixth inning
- Closing out the game in the seventh, UNC secured its seven-inning walk off on an error fielding a dropped sacrifice fly
- The Rams fell to 0-3 against top-10 opponents this season
