- VCU hosted its third-annual SupportHER game and the third largest crowd for women's basketball at the Siegel Center with 5,373 in attendance
- Katarina Kneževic paced the Rams with a career-high 22 points along with five rebounds
- Cyriah Griffin scored 17 points for the Rams going 6-of-13 from the field
- The Spiders outshot the Rams from the floor at 53.1 percent (26-for-49) while VCU shot at a 41.3 clip (28-for-65

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- VCU erased an early deficit, tying the game at 12-12 with 2:20 remaining on a Kneževic jumper in the opening quarter. Richmond held a slight 19-15 lead heading into the second
- The Rams didn't allow a field goal in the final four minutes of the first half, but entered halftime trailing 38-25
- Kneževic powered VCU's offense with 10 points in the third quarter including a 3-pointer that got VCU within 44-38 with 4:45 to go. The Spiders went on a 12-2 run to close the quarter and led 56-40
- In the final quarter, the Rams kept battling and outscored the Spiders 22-21 in th eframe led by Griffin's 11 points but they weren't able to close the deficit
