With the game's scoring moment limited to just a minute on the game clock, VCU men's soccer battled to a 1-1 draw with George Washington on Wednesday at the Athletic Village to earn points in back-to-back Atlantic 10 contests.

- Andrey Salmeron scored his first goal of the year
- Salmeron's six shots were the most by a Ram this season and led the game, while his three shots on goal matched GW's Tommaso Lami for the match high
- On the assist, Mohammed Ibrahim picked up his fourth point in just two matches for a career-high seven points on the season
- Trevor Maloney made a season-high four saves, playing all 90 minutes between the posts
- VCU outshot GW 15-11 and the teams were even with five shots on goal apiece

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Maloney made a pair of saves in the first 10 minutes, to keep the 0-0 score intact in the first half despite both teams combining for 10 shot attempts
- Again opening a half with a pair of saves, Maloney maintained the scoreless draw into the 50th minute
- Ibrahim made a long run from the Rams' defensive half and Salmeron snapped the stalemate on a chipped shot over Pena off his line to take a 1-0 lead in the 51st minute
- Just 50 seconds later, George Washington evened the score at 1-1, netting a blocked-shot rebound through traffic
- VCU took nine more attempts, including four on goal, but Pena staved off the Rams' attempt to regain the lead, tying 1-1
