Letizia Galli pulled off a rare double-double as VCU and its formidable front line blocked a Davidson comeback Tuesday night at Belk Arena.

OPENING VOLLEY
- Galli tied a career-high with 11 blocks Tuesday, including three solos. The junior from Italy also spiked 11 kills, while hitting .409
- Junior outside hitter Lara Del Core sparked the VCU offense with 14 kills, while hitting .400 on 25 attempts. She also rang up four blocks
- Senior middle blocker Nina Boledovicova was virtually unstoppable for the Black and Gold. She supplied 12 kills, while hitting .550 with just one error
- Junior setter Cansin Sendir keep the attack humming with 40 assists for the Rams. She also contributed 13 digs defensively
- Elena Garcia-Guerrios led all players with 18 kills for the Wildcats
THE DIFFERENCE
- In a match that saw its fair share of momentum swings, VCU struck the final, decisive blow. The Rams stormed out to a 5-1 lead in the fifth set tiebreaker following a pair of Del Core kills and never looked back. VCU hit .350 in the frame and committed just one error
- VCU dominated the early stages of Tuesday's contest. The Black and Gold hit a combined .396 on the way to 25-20 and 25-10 victories in the first two sets
- The Black and Gold recorded a season-high 14.0 blocks Tuesday
- Overall, the Rams hit .265 on the night, while Davidson registered a .146 mark

VCU improved to 26-6 all-time against Davidson, including 13-3 at Belk Arena.
