RAMS EARN 4-0 VICTORY OVER TEMPLE

The Short Story: VCU Women's Tennis made quick work of Temple as the Rams won 4-0 in dominant fashion on Sunday evening.
 
Opening Serve
  • Doubles play finished convincingly, as Mariam Ibrahim and Tania Isabel Andrade Sabando set the tone with a 6-1 win. Moments later, Sara Alba and Viktoria Lackova matched the result with a 6-1 victory of their own to secure the doubles point for VCU. Andrea Magallanes and Sofia Jane Thorne were up 4-3 when the match was finished
  • Moving into singles action, Ibrahim and Andrade were the first to finish again, defeating their opponents 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1, respectively. These two victories gave the Rams a 3-0 lead and left little doubt as to who would leave victorious
  • Thorne battled valiantly on court one for the remainder of the afternoon, trading points with the Owl's Mari Christoforidou in a hard-fought, competitive contest. Unfortunately for Thorne, the match would end with her leading 4-1 in the third set after splitting the first two sets, 7-5 and 3-6
  • On court two, Lackova had a battle of her own, as her match went the distance before being halted with the score split evenly at 6-3, 4-6, 2-2
  • Magallanes, who took the court later in the afternoon, was efficient against Temple's Thamara Kawaratani, earning a 6-2, 6-1 victory to clinch the match for the Rams
