The short story: Gudrun Hallgrimsdottir qualified for her third consecutive NCAA Championships to headline the three performances at the NCAA East Region First Round
 
THROWS

• Hallgrimsdottir was the highlight of the week, as she captured the East Region title in the hammer throw to qualify for her third consecutive NCAA Championships. The senior's top distance of 69.53 meters bested the rest of the competition by over two meters
• Sophomore Blanca Pereira competed in the hammer throw as well, recording a best throw of 59.19 meters to finish 22nd. The Spanish native entered Thursday's competition with the 23rd best mark in the East Region
• Madi Griffin rounded out the throwers performances on Thursday while competing in the javelin throw. The sophomore recorded a best throw of 40.35 meters

Hallgrimsdottir will compete in the hammer throw at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. scheduled for Thursday, June 12 at 1:30 p.m. PT/10:30 a.m. EST. The meet will be streamed on ESPN+.
