Gudrun Hallgrimsdottir and
Eryn Byrd delivered strong outings for the Rams in the hammer throw, with Hallgrimsdottir securing first place, to headline the Black and Gold's performance at George Mason.Â

THROWS
- Hallgrimsdottir continued her impressive season, winning the hammer throw with a top distance of 66.25 meters. The next-best mark in the event was 51.68 meters, 14.57 meters shorter than Hallgrimsdottir's throw. Her performance earned the top spot in the Atlantic 10 and is good for the seventh-best mark in the NCAA this season
- Byrd secured sixth place in the hammer throw with a personal best mark of 45.69 meters. This performance surpassed her previous top distance, which she set earlier this season at the Raleigh Relays hosted by N.C. State
- Sophomore Desi Akaolisa recorded a new personal best in the hammer throw as wellÂ
DISTANCE
- In the 3000-meter steeplechase, junior Ava Miller clocked a time of 11:17.68 to earn a fourth-place finish. Her performance currently ranks as the tenth best in the A-10 for the event
- Sophomore Sabria Wooden set a new personal best in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:14.94, finishing 17th in a field of over 80 participants. She surpassed her previous best of 2:15.09, which she set earlier this season at the UCF Black and Gold Invitational
- Nia Warren recorded a personal best time of 4:36.03 to catapult her to an 11th-place finish in the 1500-meter race. Miller recorded a 4:49.18 in the event as wellÂ
Next up
The Rams will next send athletes to compete in the South Florida Invitational and the JMU Invitational. The USF Invitational will take place from Friday to Saturday, April 11-12, while the JMU Invitational is scheduled for Saturday, April 12.
