The Short Story: VCU Men's Tennis held up Kennesaw State's comeback attempt in singles and won 5-2 on Saturday afternoon down in Georgia. 

Opening Serve

  • The Rams started the dual match by clinching the doubles with a par of 6-4 wins by the pairings of Gevorg Mnatsakanyan and Nicolo Consonni on court two and Leon Zaorski and Alfred Almasi on court three
  • German Samofalov gave the Rams a 2-0 lead with his 6-2, 6-3 singles win on court one.
  • After the Owls tied the dual match at 2-2, a win via retirement by Erwann Bouchet on court three gave the Rams a 3-2 lead
  • The dual match was clinched by the Black and Gold with a three set, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 win on court 5 from Alfred Almasi
  • Kostiantyn Mantach won the Ram's fifth point of the dual match on court five with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 win
