Zoli Khalil layup started a 20-6 run across the third and fourth quarter to allow the Rams to pull away for the win    Â

- VCU was led by Mary-Anna Asare who had 24 points. She shot 9-of-17 from the floor and 6-of-12 from 3-point range. She also added five rebounds and three assists
- Zoli Khalil also poured in 19 points with eight rebounds. She went 4-of-5 from 3-point range
- Mykel Parham grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds and scored four points
- VCU outrebounded Fordham 45-32 and led 21-10 in second chance points

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first quarter was a back-and-forth affair. VCU trailed Fordham 9-8 before going on a 12-2 run capped by a Parham layup. The Rams led 20-11 with 3:48 left in the first
- Fordham closed the quarter on a 6-0 run to cut VCU's lead to 26-22 heading into the second
- With VCU leading 35-34, the Rams used a 9-2 run to build its lead again to 44-36 following a Khalil 3-pointer with 2:20 left before halftime
- VCU led 44-38 at the break. It marked the most first half points this season by VCU
