- Saint Joseph's opened the scoring in the 13th minute as Kluyt scored on a penalty corner
- The Hawks doubled their lead in the 19th minute on another corner as Emily Tammaro scored
- VCU came out of halftime and outshot the Hawks 9-1, earning a goal in the 34th minute as Jense redirected a pass from Aalderink into the top netting following a corner
- The Rams tied the game 2-2 in the 47th minute as Föerster was able to redirect Ventimiglia's pass past the goalkeeper at point blank range
- The Rams and Hawks battled through the first overtime and into the second before Saint Joseph's scored the game-winner on a corner with 1:43 remaining. Kluyt scored her second of the day.
